Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings Wii, PS2, PSP, DS [LUCASARTS] Indy’s back. This time, the dapper archeology professor is after the Staff of Kings, better known as the Biblical Staff of Moses. Traveling through the Sudan, San Francisco, Panama, Istanbul and Nepal, Indy ventures over, under and into just about every obstacle imaginable in order to beat treasure hunter Magnus Völler to the punch. Expect lots of spec- tacular chases and whipping enemies into submission. In Stores June 9 Prototype X360, PS3, PC [ACTIVISION] Play as a genetically-altered shape-shifter in Activision’s newest bloodbath. While the majority of Prototype posits anti-hero Alex Mercer directly into the action—taking out the military and other mutants—the main goal is to figure out who Mercer is and how he acquired the shape- shifting trait. How does Mercer do this without any recollection of his past? By consuming other humans to acquire their memories. In Stores June 9 Activision hasn’t revealed how many Transformers will be play- able, but rumor has it Revenge of the Fallen sports the largest collection of characters from the Transform- ers universe yet. Along with an online multi-player mode (deathmatch and team death- match are confirmed), the new weapons system, using primary and secondary fire, is neat. So too are the deployable special weapons. We can’t wait to try the Overdrive Meter. In Revenge of the Fallen, the more you rub out, the quicker your ODM fills. Once the ODM is maxed, it provides invulnerability and your weapons won’t overheat. Really, there are plenty of robot beat ’em ups out there—Dynasty Warriors: Gundam  rings a bell—but none of them are gonna best Revenge of the Fallen. We’ll bet all the Allspark shards are on Diego Garcia on it. Transform- ers: Revenge of the Fallen is out in June for X360, PS3, PSP, Wii, Nintendo DS and PC. Guitar Hero: Smash Hits X360, PS3, PS2, Wii [ACTIVISION] Wish the songs from Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock were playable on your World Tour set-up? All of us do. Master tracks from 48 favorites are play- able on drums, vocals, bass and guitar. Smash Hits includes the Music Studio mode and eight new venues (Amazon, Arctic, Grand Canyon). Rock your socks off. In Stores June 16 Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Wii [CAPCOM] Folks at Capcom don’t let their popular franchises croak. True to form, Resident Evil is reanimated in Wii form, using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to control Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine through throngs of the living dead and their frighteningly powerful bosses. Though Archives is basically a GameCube update, the new control system translates into a whole zombie-obliterating experience. In Stores June 23 Fight Night Round 4 X360, PS3 [EA] Punch-Out!! references are cliché when discussing boxing titles. But we’ve included it anyway. With a new physics engine—animated on-the- fly punches—Fight Night Round 4 is remarkably lifelike. Thus, direction and power play a large role in each fight. Glancing blows might surprise opponents, but won’t stun them. Leave yourself open too many times or rely on the same combos and you’ll have the ring floor for dinner. In Stores June 30 BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger X360, PS3 [AKSYS] 2D fighting games are old hat. Too bad we like old hats. From the makers of Guilty Gear comes BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, an attractive hand- drawn brawler with some of the glitziest/deadliest combos ever.
